Dr. Finch is Accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry
Accreditation through the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry serves to set the standard for excellence in cosmetic dentistry. Achieving accredited status requires dedication to continuing education, and clinical case presentations demonstrating the ability to execute exceptional dentistry.
After a journey that spanned more than a decade and included a written examination, clinical case submissions evaluated by a board of examiners making up some of the nation’s top cosmetic dentists, and an in-person oral examination, Dr. Finch is proud to be the first and only female accredited cosmetic dentist in the Province of British Columbia. She is one of less than 20 accredited dentists in Canada, and one of just over 300 in the world.

“When I first learned of the process of accreditation, I knew it was something I wanted to achieve. My personal passion for my career was ignited by the challenge. I did not at the time realize of course exactly how difficult it would be or how long it would take. I actually thought I was a good cosmetic dentist. Over many years, Accreditation took me to a completely new level and taught me to evaluate my work entirely differently. I was humbled by the realization that I still had a lot to learn. However, I accepted the challenge, I did not give up, and by maintaining a focus which really resulted in enhanced patient care along the way, I travelled all over North America seeking the expertise of the best and brightest.

Accreditation has honed my knowledge and understanding of smile design, but more than that, I’ve found my life’s work to be more enjoyable than ever before. I remain absolutely thrilled and always grateful for the work that I do, the patients who have entrusted me to their care, and the staff that have supported me along the way. As well, I now have a wonderful network of colleagues and friends across North America who feel the same way as I do which has become a framework of support as well as intellectual growth. Dental school teaches a limited scope of cosmetic dentistry, so if you don’t seek out additional training, you can’t deliver the results you want to.
Accreditation was always more about the journey than the end result, but at the same time, it’s my greatest professional accomplishment and I am very proud to have achieved this goal. “
